Re: Okoflex
Hopefully on the bench on Wednesday.
U23's have been awesome this season with a lot of new faces. Will be interesting how many can make a name for themselves should they get game time in the Europa or LC.

And the u18's won 5-0 against Villa. The first team need to make it a white wash.

Browno looked to me like he was just just gently taking the piss. Nothing to get upset about.

Couldn’t get a game for Celtic but scoring for fun in a comedy league where everyone does their best to avoid a tackle

Relax

Re: Okoflex
Paulon - so you’re saying the under 23’s is the same as the Scottish premier league then?

Re: Okoflex
Never seen him play but you would think if he is that good he will be in or near the first team squad very shortly, even more so as we have a lack of strikers?.

Maybe only 19 but you look at all the very good players at different clubs and most were in the first team squad at this age, some playing for the first team on a regular basis.

If he is not in the first team sqaud by the start of next season, odds on he is just another "Wonder kid" who never made it.

Re: Okoflex
The chances of any U-23 striker, or from the academy etc, breaking into the first team and staying there is extremely slim, it's just the way it is now. Would need to be a borderline superstar.

I watched some of the Leeds game yesterday and they have a youngster who won the late pen, can't remember his name, but he looked a big talent, was bursting into the box and going past players like a Gascoigne.

Would make a great front three with Asterix and Obelix

Re: Okoflex
Perhaps he's improved considerably since he left Celtic? Moyes and his team have a proven record with Antonio and Arnautović.

How about getting behind the kid, rather than putting his efforts down?

Re: Okoflex
Watched him play a few times for the 23's, for me he looks the one forward who has something about him. I thought he was running down his contract at Celtic and that was part of the reason they sold?

Re: Okoflex
Just checked out the highlights on the official site.
Superb football by the youngsters. Moyes should definitely give a few the chance to impress in the future Europa group games to come.
Apart from Okoflex, I liked Longelo at left wing back, and the tall Centre forward Sonny Perkins looks promising.
You would think Man U would have top youngsters trying to impress but West Ham tore them to shreds.
Our reserves coaches are doing a fine job.

Re: Okoflex
Longelo has trained with the first team quite a bit, I read somewhere.

He looks like a decent player. A few of them look capable of stepping up, but you just can't tell whether they'll be successful until it happens. I remember chatting in depth to the youth coaches in 2015 and all the talk was about Oxford (pre-debut), Browne, Neuville and Burke.

Declan Rice barely got a mention. Yet...
